This image was drawn in homage to Michigan's ability to turn out some seriously fine beets. Sugar beets, beets for dinner, they all grow exceptionally well in the area. Back in the old days, several cultivars of beet were named for Detroit and are still available today. Although Ruby of Detroit is an imagined variety and seed packet, the huge beets in growing in Grandma gardens behind garages lining the neighborhood alleys were for real.

11x14 printed with archival inks on acid-free, weighty ivory stock in my studio fine art printer.

Until mid-September, all 11x14s are being shipped rolled in paper inside of a mailing tube.
