How can anything so HOT look so cool?

When I pulled these cobalt dichroic earrings from the kiln, I was astounded by the cool depth and saturated color. Like a still, deep pool of water, they'll draw you in and hold your attention.

Accented with high quality Japanese miracle beads in blue and cobalt on cold-formed sterling wires, the earrings hang approximately 1.75 inches beneath solid sterling earwires ~ perfectly balanced to stay in place without rubber stoppers (but I'll include some for you if it'll make you feel more secure).

The earrings will arrive beautifully wrapped as shown in the photo above.

Hand-Crafted Quality

I get a lot of questions about my Celebration© line from people who are as intrigued by the elements as by the composition.

The dichroic glass beads are hand-made by assembling layers glass and firing them in a kiln. The beads are built from bottom to top in layers that are tacked with glue to hold them together until the firing process is completed. The assembled beads are placed in the kiln on a rack that has been coated to prevent the glass from sticking. The kiln is heated in stages up to about 1480ºF, then the glass is slowly cooled to room temperature. Upon polishing the silver, the bead is finished.

JillsJoy dichroic beads are different from most dichroic glass jewelry in significant ways:

* Most dichroic jewelry is made with tiny bits of dichroic sandwiched between a plain glass base and a clear glass overlay. The result is a piece with a glossy or wet look achieved with minimal expense.

* JillsJoy beads have two ½ by ¾ rectangles of dichroic glass topped with another slice of thin dichroic and fused into a bead “sandwich”— much more expensive to make. The resulting look is markedly different: beads with an almost shimmery metallic feel that look as pretty on one side as they do on the other.

When you purchase JillsJoy jewelry, you are acauiring one-of-a-kind wearable artwork of unparalleled value. I hope you'll love your new earrings as much as I loved making them!
