The image is the work of Graystone Bird of the city of Bath, who is better known for his landscape work. He was active here in England during the second half of the 19th century.
It is a very simple studio shot of a young girl in a white nightgown holding a candle and is the standard size: 3 1/4" square. The emulsion surface is backed with a second sheet of glass and bound together with black tape, some of which is a bit worn. There is a small area of staining to one corner, but it is not at all visible on the actual image. The two white dots on the corners must be guides for loading the slide for presentation. Notes on the slide state the title & photogrqapher.
This slide is in good vintage condition. It's a great item for collectors, display or for mixed media projects. Thanks for looking!
