This painting is a continuation of my obsession with barnacles and their forms. Barnacles are creatures that latch onto anything that is immobile-or immobile enough-in the ocean. They can be found on rocks, wharves, lobsters, boats, whales, and pretty much anything that hangs out in the water long enough. They just chill out and wait for food to float past them. They can vary in size and species, they have a hard white shell that looks kind of like little mountains from another planet.

The background is hand painted with acrylic paints. It is thick and textured with a variety of colours.

The barnacles are all hand cut from paper and pasted onto the background.

This painting is unique and one of a kind. It is on heavy stock, acid free paper.

It measures 8 inches by 11 inches, so should fit easily in standard frames.

It will be shipped in stiff packaging so you will receive it safe and flat.

Everything comes nicely packaged and ready for giving! If you are interested in shipping to an alternate address as a gift please let me know in the notes to seller section.
