This handcrated Fine Silver Pendant measures 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches.

A timely piece made of pure silver, this pendant says "Spring is in the Air" above a robin that is tinted red and blue. There are two flowers in the upper left next to the words. The chain is individually attached at both ends so it does not overlap the pendant. The colors are soflty subtle. The piece has been patinated with liver of sulfur to bring out the details in the robin and the words. Prismacolors were used to tint the bird. I hope this fine silver pendant brings spring all year round to whoever purchases it. This fine silver "Spring is in the Air" pendant is made from precious metal clay (PMC). PMC is recycled silver in a clay form. This process allows the jeweler to mold, shape, cut and design the surface before firing it in a kiln where it is turned into pure silver (99.9%). The process allows for surface decoration that is almost impossible to achieve using available metalsmithing techinques. Once fired, the piece can be patinated (often with liver of sulfur) and then burnished to create a darker area in the recessed surfaces. The result is a piece of jewelry that would be very difficult to find in any jewelry store where the main silver sold is sterling silver (92.5%).

This necklace will arrive at your house with an 18 inch chain in a box that is lined on the bottom with tarnish resistent cotton.
