This lovely and highly collectible pin is being sold to raise money for Long Island Food Not Bombs (www.lifnb.com) and Community Solidarity.

The Marguerite daisy is the national flower of Denmark, native land of jeweler Anton Michelsen. He originally designed this piece in 1940 to commemorate the birth of Denmark's Queen Margrethe, who is still reigning today. The piece bears his hallmark, the initials AM under a crown, inside a triangle on the reverse. The words Sterling Denmark are stamped beneath.

This magnificent brooch measures 2 inches across, making it the largest one produced in this series, and is made of sterling silver gilded at the center. It is a substantial piece and you can really feel the weight of the silver. The enamel on two of the petals is cracked and darkened in a few places as visible in the photos. The clasp has a secure locking safety lever and is in excellent working condition.

All proceeds from the sale of this donated brooch (100% of the sale price less shipping and fees) will be put toward the operation of a 501c3 nonprofit. If you would like to make a donation in addition or instead, please send a conversation.
