Hand-written in calligraphy, the following lyrics from the George Fox song by Sydney Carter:
"If we give you a pistol, will you fight for the Lord?"
"But you can't kill the Devil with a gun or a sword!"

George Fox is recognised as the founder of the Religious Society of Friends, AKA the Quakers. Quakers have a strong testimony to peacemaking, and this part of the song references when George Fox refused a high ranking post in the Parliamentary Army, on the basis that he lived "in the virtue of that life and power that took away the occasion of all wars."

The song is sung to the tune of "Simple Gifts", as is Carter's more well-known song "Lord of the Dance."

This calligraphy is done on 8.5"x11" acid-free white parchment paper with archival ink. A version on brown parchment paper is available here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/80774307
