This cute plastic Chinese take-out style box decorated with bunnies and flowers contains 25 home baked treats for rabbits (about 4 oz) in 4 different flavors. They are wrapped in packets of 5 treats each and labeled with the flavor name so you can see which flavor your pet likes best. The packets are little brown paper bags labeled in pencil so they are safe to give to your rabbit to tear into. The treats are heart shaped and about 1 1/2 inches wide. They are made with ground up alfalfa based rabbit pellets, orchard grass hay, and rolled oats with a hint of cane syrup added. For the different flavors, fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables and fresh or dried herbs were added to the recipe. See list below for additions to each flavor. After baking they were left in a warm oven until completely dry/hard so they will last longer.

The box includes:
- 5 Strawberry Banana: frozen (by me) strawberries with fresh banana (Baked November 5, 2011)
- 10 Pumpkin Herb: baked pureed (by me) pumpkin with fresh parsley, basil, & oregano (Baked November 12, 2011)
- 5 Apple Basil: frozen (by me) apple with fresh basil (Baked December 3, 2011)
- 5 Cranberry Mint: fresh cranberries with dried mint (Baked December 18, 2011)

These treats are quite hard. So they are good for wearing down teeth as well as being tasty. Rabbits, not having feet useful for gripping food, may have trouble getting a bite out of these treats. Mine end up scooting them around the cage until they wedge them in a corner. Some people have noted they enjoy holding the treat while their rabbit nibbles on it. Although Nemo (pictured) kept running away with the treat that a little girl was trying to hand feed him at one of Magic Happens adoption events. ;-)

These treats are timothy hay free. I'm allergic so that's my main reason for not wanting to bake with it, but also one of my rabbits is allergic to timothy hay. I don't know how many rabbits out there have this problem, but I know it's hard to find bunny treats on the market that aren't made with timothy hay.

All ingredients are rabbit safe. I cannot give advice on what is okay for other small animals to eat. Please research or contact your vet before purchasing if you are unsure of the safety for you pet. Rabbit pellet ingredients listed here: http://www.kaytee.com/products/supreme-rabbit.php .
