This fabulous eye-popping sugar bow has the familiar and highly collectible dogwood pattern as seen on many tea cups and saucers. This particular piece has no hallmark, so I suspect it was meant to be part of a set that may have been marked. This piece is gorgeous without cracks, crazing or hairlines but there are some portions of the top handle and side handles where the gold leaf that has been rubbed off. There is a bit of gold leaf, though not easily seen on the bottom foot of the sugar bowl that has rubbed off as well, but this is hardly noticeable because it is only a line of gold gilt along the very bottom rim. The top of this (if you look closely at pictures 3 and 4) has a few manufacturer flaws in that they look like flakes of porcelain/china that were fired on, sort of rough spots.

This piece is great for display but would be fabulous as a catchall on a bedroom bureau or bathroom counter. The minor flaws mentioned above actually make this piece more appealing as it is beginning to show its age. This is a fabulous piece, so hard to describe in words. I think it originally was a sugar bowl, for sugar cubes rather than loose sugar but I may be wrong.
