This is a neat spice tin of Old Judge Cloves, circa 1940s. It has a paper label which covers the tin itself. Old Judge Spices were manufactured by the David G. Evans Coffee Company, St. Louis, Missouri. Coffee tins are out there on the market but the spice tins are harder to come by.

This spice tin held 2 ounces of cloves and the label is in excellent condition with no tearing or fading. The front is identical to the back with that great owl logo. Some spice remains in the tin.

The top has a twist type opener for sifting or pouring. There is age noted to both the top and bottom with minimal rust. This company made teas, coffees, spices, coffee roasters and spice grinders as printed on the one side.

A great tin to be sure!
