Opihi is the Hawaiian name for Limpet. They have flattened, cone-shaped shells. Opihi are commonly found adhering strongly to rocks or other hard substrates, looking like little bumps on the surface.

Wikipedia states: "Larger limpet species are, or were historically, cooked and eaten in many different parts of the world. For example, in Hawaii, limpets (Cellana species) are commonly known as ‘opihi' and are considered a delicacy; the meat sells for $30-40 a pound (454g)."

This lot is approximately 50 baby shell.

Use in an arrangement for decoration, embellishments, jewelry. Great to use in all sorts of craft projects, sculpture, and candle art.

All shells have been picked by hand during many trips and hours to the shoreline. I never gather shell with live animals still in them. Shells are gathered in a natural state and NOT altered chemically or mechanically. Wash and cleansed with sea water.

A lovely addition for any collection or art project.
Any questions please convo.
Mahalo, thank you!
Aloha!
