This cute little elephant drawer pull is sure to charm anyone who spies it. All it needs now is a little drawer to call home.

Crafted in Indonesia, this piece is made from brass and comes with a Phillips-head (crosshead) metal screw that's 25mm in length (1 inch) and 3mm in diameter at the thread.

Once fitted to a drawer or cabinet door, it would protrude about 22mm, in my estimation.

You can get an idea of its proportion by scrolling through to my final photo to see it in the hands of little Vishnu, aged about two.

BACK STORY
In Indonesia, elephants are found on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo where they are threatened by habitat loss.

Sumatran elephants are protected under Indonesian law but like their African counterparts, they fall prey to poachers who kill them for their ivory. However, habitat loss is the greatest threat they face as land is converted to palm oil plantations.

In Kalimantan - the Indonesian part of Borneo - the Borneo elephant's range is restricted to a small contiguous area of the upper Sembakung River in the east

One of Bali's top tourist destinations is the Elephant Safari Park at Taro.

In October 2010, the park won the CIPTA Award, the first of its kind in Indonesia, for the best management of an environmentally friendly tourist attraction in Indonesia.

You can learn more about the park and its work in helping to conserve endangered elephants here -
