Update: I'm afraid I'm not selling these lights right now. They're now patent pending, but on my lawyers' advise I have quit hand-making them and recalled the ones I sold (They do work great, but U.L. listing and legal mumbo-jumbo do get in the way of good fun) .
I've been trying to hook up with different companies to sell the idea, so we'll see what happens. Right now, it's on a site called quirky.com. If I get 200 votes in 30 days, my light gets the designers' attention and hopefully their interest. If you'd like to vote for me, the link is: http://www.quirky.com/invent/621551/action/vote/query/sort=ending_soon&categories=all#_=_

Thanks for your interest,

Kevin

This is a unique creation that I designed and built from an idea I had as a kid. It's a standard 3/4" brass sillcock, converted into a night light. Turning the valve actually turns on the 1/4 watt LED bulb in the hanging drop of "water". A great attention-getter for guests, and it gives off ample light to use as a night light. This would make a perfect gift for that handyman, contractor, landscaper, or hard-to-buy-for person.
The fixture is rather heavy for its size so I recommend planning on putting it in a newer outlet. Older outlets are sometimes weaker and don't always hold so well. If you're looking at this post and the light is already sold, I can make more. I also notice that the price disappears once the item sells. If you're looking at a "sold" listing, these are $50 each plus $8 shipping.

A little disclaimer: These are basically prototypes and are a little bit fragile. Everything in them has been modified to fit and to get the look I wanted. I've never had one break, but I also don't let my kids play with them. Also, they are home made and they are electric, which means they aren't U.L. listed and come with no guarantees or insurance other than the knowledge that I always have at least one running in my house and have given them out to friends and family for years with no concerns or trouble. LED bulbs typically burn for at least 30,000 hours, and the bulb I use in my lights has a lifetime warranty before I dismantle it, so you should expect a long period of service out of this light.

Here are some feedbacks I've gotten on these lights:

"My husband said you are a genius! Love it."

"Rockin' cool nightlight! Seller also went out of his way to help a quirk caused by my home's horizontally oriented outlets."

"Absolutely fabulous piece. Very creative. Probably will never see another one like it. Glad I got this one. Super speedy delivery. Thanks so much!"

"Love it. Kind of want one for myself now.... =)"

"Awesome! It looks more awesome in person than in the picture. My sister was so jealous."
