The Embroidery:

This handmade piece of art is embroidered using my own sketch that is traced directly onto the fabric. I call this specific design "El Cielo". The design is colored with an oil pastel medium. The colors are blues, greens, and hints of metallic gold. The hoop is hand-stained and the back is roughly finished.

Grace your dear family and friends with one of our lovely pieces of "hoop art". Place on a book shelf, hang on a wall in a small space of your home, give as a beautiful, personal gift.

˚˚˚NOTE: The piece in the photograph is the exact piece you will receive. There is a small glue stain on the back right corner (visible in the last photograph) - it does not interfere with the beauty on the front˚˚˚

The wood art you see in the second photography is from: http://www.etsy.com/shop/degnodinota

The Story:

My father grew up in Brownsville, Texas “the city on the border, by the sea.” Whenever we visit he always makes it a passionate experience: oysters at the island, fishing off Port Isabel, eating lunch at The Vermillion, authentic taquitos and "pan" everywhere you look. My favorite is sitting in Garcia’s in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico listening to his stories that vividly express the childhood of a once little boy, as the Mariachis swoon in the background.

In the markets of Mexico my dad overlooks most everything unless he spots a piece of Talavera (Mexican pottery) made by the artist, Hernandez. This Talavera is absolutely stunning. With his passion for cooking, my father’s Talavera collection is the best accessory for those special family fiestas.

I have countless times searched through shops in Matamoros looking for pieces of Talavera made by the infamous “Hernandez”. Now, I have another way to share with enthusiasm, the elegance of Talavera.

Packaging:

This piece will be gently packaged and wrapped as a gift and will ship no later the one day following purchase. If you would like to send as a gift please let us know, and we can send one of our note cards with a sweet note from you.

Shalom & Merci (y gracias),
Honey
