These handmade papers are made from the leaves and stems
of the Banana (Musa basjoo) plant.
Banana stems and leaves have long fibers, creating a strong paper
with visible fibers throughout the sheet.

3 sheets are are made of banana and cotton fibers. One sheet is
made with only banana fibers and is a light jute brown color.
The fifth sheet is pure banana on one side and was "couched" (pressed)
onto a metal perforated plate.
This has resulted in a strong polka dot texture. This sheet is backed with
a sheet of banana/cotton paper creating a strong "sandwich".
All sheets are all highly textured and somewhat wavy.

They haven't been sized and will act like a waterleaf (unsized) paper.
Use them for book covers, textured sketchbook pages, collage material and
printmaking. When used for printmaking, lightly mist the paper and place between
blotters (I use an old phone book to soak up excess water)
If the paper is too wet, it will stick to the printing plate).

Each sheet has deckle (feathered) edges made up of the plant fibers.
These add beauty and interest to the sheet.
The sheets are all approximately 6 inches by 9 inches and
some are thicker than others.
Your 5 sheets of paper will be carefully packed and
shipped first class mail with delivery confirmation in the US
and First class mail international.
