This old hurricane soaked cypress door has now been turned on its side and inlaid with antique ceiling tins. Most doors I use are reclaimed cypress doors that are from homes that went underwater during Hurricane Katrina. The patina left behind makes for a beautiful headboard with distressed wood that cannot be duplicated. Each door consists of 4-5 inset hand-crafted panels. I then take ornate antique ceiling tins from around the New Orleans region. The tins are then cut to fit each panel creating an ornately symmetrical design of old Victorian past.

The panels of this door are inlaid with creamy white ceiling tins from an old warehouse here in Louisiana. Typical of French influence here in Louisiana, the tins are pressed with a slight floral pattern, and small Fleur De'Lis spreading outward. For this particular headboard I left the ornately tarnished brass lock and door plate. This option is available upon request.

Each headboard is custom made to order. This particular queen sized headboard has already sold. But, I will work with you to determine the appropriate size, color, pattern, and price of each headboard. I carry a variety of different styled tins in different patterns.
The headboards can be mounted one of two ways:

1. I can attach the headboard to your framing by building posts from heart pine or cypress beams. These reclaimed posts are made from attic beams that were once in old New Orleans mansions. This option is an additional $150

2. I can provide customers with a "French cleat". This is a two part bracket where half attaches to your bedroom wall and the other to the back of your headboard. You simply pick the headboard up and snap it in to place with the bracket on the wall. Then you push your bed frame up against the headboard. This option is $30 for a queen headboard
