In a rare choice of forest green silk satin, this Manchu chinese robe is in pristine unused condition and is covered front and back with a wild flock of colorful hand embroidered butterflies; just unbelievable! Golden ball buttons and loops close the front under the mandarin collar, and there is a trim of gold couched metallic thread and silk embroidery on black around the collar, front, cuffs of the extra long and wide sleeves and at the hem vented panels. Lined in the classic heavenly blue color, and with a very flexible size which will easily fit to 1x; measures 50/50/54 with a length of 32 inches. Butterfly embroidery was a favorite choice in the early part of the century and was later largely replaced by floral motifs. These butterflies are detailed and so delicately shaded.
