She bent to cut some flowers in the garden, her handmaiden carrying the armload of blossoms. Her hair, encased in its lace snood, is adorned with satin and silk ribbons, as becomes a young woman of her station. The flowers are to be models for her painting class when the instructor comes. Methinks she is flirting with him. This roving is lavender, pale blue, magenta, and chartreuse.

BFL is a “multipurpose” sheep breed dating back from the early 1900’s which produce “litters” of three or four lambs with long loins. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination. Fortunately, they also have a beautiful soft, long wool that is especially easy to spin, so they are raised to maturity for their lustrous fleeces.

My rovings are dyed with fairly even distribution of colors. Photos are of each side of the coil, so you can see as much of the color as possible. These are the same rovings from which I spin my yarns, so I dye them for that. If you find one missing that hasn’t sold, likely, I’m spinning it. Except for specialty fibers, rovings are priced at $3 an ounce.
