This is commercial Southdown top that I've dyed in shades of green, blue and purple. Southdown is (as you'd predict from the name) a down breed, it's a shortish staple and makes a very bouncy springy wool. I'd be happy to have a sweater from it but if you are sensitive it might be too woolly for you. I had four identical braids but there's just the one left now. It appears to be a bit more expensive than my other fibre, that's only because this is 125g in weight rather than 100g.

There is some hay in the fibre, not a lot and it's long and easily picked out.

This is not superwash but I understand that down breeds are somewhat resistant to felting so I wouldn't recommend it for that purpose.

For UK buyers I'm now working with flat rate postage so the cost is the same whether you buy one item or a small red van full. If you want it to go second class and save yourself 50p please use the "note to seller" to let me know and I'll refund the difference between first and second class.

125g (4.4oz) Southdown top, Lime Blue
