I can't get over how much I love the picture on this necklace. It's an early 20th century posed photograph of three women from the Black Forest region dressed in traditional, regional costume. The photograph, which comes from a historical archive, shows the women on a bench in the woods. The women look the camera dead-on and you can practically feel the forest hold its breath waiting for the aperture to click shut. The hand-tinted colors are well preserved but slightly funereal so the whole piece radiates an atmosphere of a fairytale forest that is mysterious and living and exceedingly strange.

I've reproduced the print in miniature onto hand-fabricated sheet plastic, and sealed the print under several thin protective layers that will prevent smearing and fading due to rain, sweat, and other normal wear-and-tear variables (please do take it off before swimming and showering).

Pendant hangs on 16" of fine brass figaro chain and closes with a lobster clasp. If you need the necklace a little longer (or shorter), let me know and I can make the adjustment.
