Keeping Memories Close

When a friend recently lost her baby and had him cremated, she was looking for a way to keep his ashes close, as well as remember him. It occured to me that others may have the same need for a memory aid, hence this list.

Thanks! I lost my 21 yo daughter in 1993 in a freak car wreck, so I understand the need.

This is such a meaningful collection. It gives me joy to create something for the brides to have on their wedding day in memory of a loved one. Sadly there is such a great need for these types of products. Thank you for featuring my photo memory charm.

This is a wonderful collection of artists who are using their talents to offer support and encouragement. Thank you for creating this treasury! I am privileged to be a part of it.

You're welcome - and yes, the encouragement part was a big reason to do this treasury - bereaved people need all the support and help they can get....

Thank you for including my Silver Vessel. So many of us understand the need to keep someone close from personal experience. Which is why I started making this little vessels. You're right, people suffering a terrible loss really do need all the encouragement they can get.

You're welcome - I know keeping someone close like this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if it helps with the grief, I say go for it. We each have our own way of coping....

I'm honored to be included in the Keeping Memories Close treasury. I hope this treasury is helpful to anyone facing a loss. My heart goes out to you Betty on the loss of your daughter. Facing a loss does bring you closer to understanding those who are going through it too. The loss of my 19 yr old niece led me to making keepsake jewelry. We named our business in her memory by using her initials, JNJ, in our business name. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" Matt 5:4.

thanks, and yes, had it not been for the comfort of the Lord, who knows where I'd be today... my second Etsy shop is in memory of my mom, Faye [Faye's Fabulous Finds], who was a flea market vendor/shopper for many years and left behind some cool stuff that I'm gradually posting.

A belated thanks for including me in your selection. It is so important at times to have something meaningful to wear--that is more than just pretty. It is very touching for me when someone wears my jewelry because of a loss they have suffered. It does somehow help to have something to hold on to...even if just a little bit.

I love this collection!! As the mom of an angel baby in heaven, Skye, Sep. 25, 2008 - Oct. 13, 2008. What an awesome collection. Keeping our babies memories alive is so important. You should also check out TheMidnightOrange here on Etsy, she's one of my favorites. Thank you so much for the feature.
