Sewing pattern for a large pin cushion with sewing clip caddy centre.

I absolutely live for soft crafts but I get very annoyed when i need my clips but all i can find is my pins, or despite having several pincushions, my pins seem to have got lost.

I am sure my fellow sewists will completely understand the magically disappearing tools and its not because we have far too much fabric ;)

Having searched high and low i just couldn't find what i needed so I decided to make one of course!

Its taken me some time to get this just right and upon sharing my finished design with my fellow stitchy people i quickly realised that i was not the only one who wanted a solution as i was inundated with requests for the pattern.

So after many more hours here it is! A 12 page PDF pattern with full instructions and detailed pictures and a full size template sheet.

I have written this in such a way that i hope a beginner will easily understand. There are a couple of fiddly bits but I have shown all these with full colour pictures and close ups.

This is a EPP pattern (english paper piecing) and should anyone have any problems you are more than welcome to message me and i will help if i can.

Please note this is a PDF pattern that will be available to you to download upon purchase. It consists of 2 files, (one 12 page pattern instructions and 1 template sheet.)

Finished size is approx 7.5 inches by 4 inches tall (depending on stuffing :)

I found EXACTLY what I wanted in a caddy cushion pattern! I HATED the sound of my metal tin full of clips when I tossed some in or rummaged to take one out and this soft caddy has solved that problem!! As for the pattern itself, I’d call this one an “adventurous beginner’s” pattern if you’ve only done a little EPP before. The matching can certainly be fiddly to line up everything without puckering. The pattern is written well and was fairly easy to follow. I, however, chose to do a directional fabric and didn’t even THINK about how construction took place until I got to that step and had to turn it several times figure it out. (When you get there, the TOP of your directional is going to be the first stitching you do, if that makes sense!) Thank you for a great pattern and solving my noisy clip issue!! :)
