Needle felted wolf -

‘Oh Grandma, what big EYES you have!’- Here is that most cunning of Fairytale characters- the Big Bad Wolf. All dressed up in Grandma’s mop cap and spectacles, and tucked up in her bed, waiting for poor little Red to arrive.

My Big Bad Wolf is a rather charming fellow, lovingly needle felted by hand from merino wool. He sports Granny’s cotton mop cap which is trimmed in lace, and her glasses which are fashioned from wire, with gloss varnished Kato polyclay milk bottle style lenses. Watch out for his pointy polyclay claws- each individually sculpted, varnished and glued in place.

He looks terribly comfortable in Grandma’s cosy bed, which measures approximately 85mm wide, by 135mm long and 105mm high at its tallest point. The bed frame is hand-carved from balsa wood, and finished with various coloured waxes and Renaissance Wax. Carved into the back of the bed stead is my brand name ‘Mythillogical’ on one side, and ‘MYTHS & FABRICATIONS’ on the other. The bed clothes are all hand-stitched, and, if you look closely you’ll notice that the patchwork quilt features a storyboard of the tale of Little Red Riding Hood, illustrated by me, printed onto inkjet fabric, and the squares stitched together by hand, for a true patchwork quilt effect.

***IMPORTANT: This item is sold for adult collectors only, and not for those under 14 years of age.***
You'll know from all the Fairytales you've read that the Big Bad Wolf likes nothing better than to gobble little children up, and my version is not suitable for children either. He is a decorative item, intended to bring some Fairy tale fantasy to your home.

This seller usually responds within 24 hours.

There are long lead times on needle felted and cake topper orders for a number of reasons:

-I like to set realistic timescales, so that I don't disappoint my customers.

-I will often be working on a number of orders at any one time, so won't usually be able to get started on making yours immediately.

-Whilst I would love to be able to make things all day every day, that just isn't the reality of my life! I work a 'normal' job part-time to pay my mortgage and support my family, and I obviously like to spend time with my husband and daughter too!

-I also add a little 'contingency' time, as life with a young child can be unpredictable!
If you are ordering for a Birthday or special occasion please contact me before ordering to see if I can get it done in time.

If there is still a reasonable amount of time to produce the order I can sometimes manage to get it to you a little faster, but this will depend entirely on whatever else is going on in my life and where you need the order shipped to. Whilst I like to try to be as helpful as I can, I can't work miracles and it's sometimes better to be realistic about these things!
I am open to accepting payment for an expedited service, but you will need to contact me before ordering to see if this is possible.

If I can get your order made in time without having to rearrange my schedule then I will not need to charge you extra to get your order to you in time, we can agree a new dispatch date and you can order as normal.

If I need to set aside time specifically to get your order made in time then this will be arranged as a custom order with an additional charge added for the express service. The additional charge will usually be 50% of the item cost eg. a £40 order will be £60 if express.

If there is no way I can get your order made in time- with or without the express service charge, I will advise of this.
Yes- if you place an order worth £20 or above, and you know it won't arrive in time, I can provide a free email copy of a personalised letter in my own branding, which you can print out and give to them on the day instead. Just let me know you would like this service and provide relevant details.

*Very Merry Christmas/Happy Birthday etc*
I price my work based on a number of factors including material costs and overheads (energy costs, insurance costs- all those fun things that many buyers forget to consider!) and most importantly my time, which is actually incredibly precious to me as it's in very short supply! The pieces I make are often extremely labour intensive, and if I offered them for any less I wouldn't be able to afford the cost of living in the UK. Whilst I do appreciate my customers a whole lot, I don't think I love you quite enough to not be able to afford my bills and mortgage, so I won't be offering discounts. Besides- if you're not willing to pay a fair price for it, then do you honestly love it as much as you say you do?
