A Digital PDF download Phonics Play Pack filled with 20 fun and practical Phonics activities to help prepare for the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check. Year 1 children will sit the check in June of the Summer Term.

With a Space theme, and following an engaging storyline, join Steve, the Astronaut, as you blast off into Space. Your mission is to complete each of the 20 Phonics activities before you are called back to Earth by Ground Control.

The Play Pack covers all the knowledge and skills that are essential for passing the Screening Check including decoding real and non-words, spotting digraphs, reading split digraph words and multi-syllabic words. Each activity has an extension task if your child wants an additional challenge. There are lots of hints and tips about the Screening Check along the way too!

The play pack is mainly in black and white to help reduce printing costs (24 pages in total) but it can also act as a colouring book once you've completed your mission. There is a certificate of completion to print at the end too so that your child can show off just how well prepared they are and how brilliant they are at using their phonic knowledge.
