This is my own design basket made as a smaller and more affordable alternative to the traditional Sussex Trug.

Made in the same manner as a traditional Sussex Trug with English Willow from J S Wrights and Sons, the world’s largest and oldest established company supplying English cricket bat willow, with copper nails and brass screws but with Birch and Welsh Hazel which I coppice myself.

Such a versatile basket, they can hold all your cut flowers, fruits & vegetables and your, gloves and tools! Previous customers have also used them to hold their yarn and potpourri. Also beautiful as a gift hamper; imagine receiving it at Christmas filled with fresh, local, seasonal goods.

The basket is approx. 48cm long x 25cm wide x 30cm tall (to top of handle). The basket depth in the middle is approx. 10cm.

As this item is made from natural materials, each basket will differ in colour and grain pattern.

SUSTAINABILITY

All the wood used in my work is from either sustainable sources or FSC-certified businesses.

Round wood such as hazel, ash and cherry is coppiced by myself in a wood I am managing voluntarily as a restoration project for my local authority. I occasionally buy branch wood from local tree surgeons from small garden jobs.

The ash and oak timber I use is mainly from my local timber yard Wentwood Timber, and any American white oak or beech I use is from FSC-certified Mon Timber Supplies.

Delivery is by Royal Mail 1st class. (Please note that these services do NOT include tracking. If you require tracking, there is an additional cost. Please make a note in the comment sections of your order or message me for a quote beforehand).
