A pretty, original 1960s' hat by 'Webron'
Floral hats were popular in the early to mid Sixties. The design detail in this particular hat is an excellent example of the fashion of the day - and what a gorgeous colour!
The hat is photographed on a model head with a circumference of 53 cm or 21 inches.
Condition: very good for a hat of this kind and this age. There may be some very light, faint brown marks on the brim but they are very difficult to see, particularly given the reflective finish to the hat. I have tried to take a photo (please see photo 7) of one small mark. It is diffcult to capture it. If you follow the green 'stalk' of the top flower down onto the brim you may see a faint mark. Photo 8 was taken with the sun shining on the brim. There is a small knot in the fabric of the brim. The mark I tried to photograph in picture 7 is at the top of this photo, too. Any marks really are difficult to see so, apologies, if I have not spotted them all.
There are some earlier examples of hats made by this company in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London which you can see in the V&A Explore The Collections online site.
This is a lovely piece of fashion history with intricate floral detail.
