This may be the most gorgeous bathrobe I have ever created. I have never seen a peacock bedspread like the one I found to create this masterpiece of wearable art. Super plush, and red on red tufting. THE largest peacock ever, this tufter might have been from Texas, where everything is bigger! I cut a 3X because that glorious tail was so big, it was almost necessary to get the whole tail on the robe! Such a glorious tail it extends from the back to the front on the two front panels.

Super plush and wonderful, very soft. Zoom in to the pictures to see how amazing the hand tufting is on this beauty. Deep purple sleeves pick up on the purple in the peacock, lending more opulence to the garment; sleeves are very plush and soft as well. This robe is a bit longer than most of mine as well.

3XL can fit up to a woman's size 28, with pockets. Machine washable too. Mannequin is a size 18 for reference.

Chenille bedspreads were created and manufactured in the US during the 1930s to the 1950s; much of it was hand tufted. The hand tufting process was often a series of knots tied in a pre-printed design onto cotton (muslin) fabric. These one-of-a-kind bedspreads varied by the tufter, as well as by materials used.

The production of chenille stopped in the United States after about 1960, and much of it is being up cycled and given new life. Since the supply of vintage chenille is limited and finite, it has become more difficult to find! Although chenille is durable, it can suffer wear over time that may take the form of thinning lines of chenille, skipped spots where chenille has come out; small pinholes, or variations in color. If any of these imperfections are notable, I will mention them in the description below, but because the chenille is true vintage or antique, the journey it has made prior to becoming this gorgeous bathrobe may tell the story of a previous life.
