In this Hamsa Hand artwork from my Hamsa 22 - Hebrew letter series, i have created a unique Hamsa Hand surrounding the Hebrew letter 'Shin' (Sh)
There are 22 drawings overall as there are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet.
Each Hebrew letter has its very own meaning, a numerical number and symbolizes different elements. The smaller hebrew text with 3 letters in each drawing is from the Kabbalah and carries in it a positive 'hidden' message.
It is a spiritual exploration of the letters combined with lots of fresh colours and illustrative style in this modern judaica series.
The original drawings were all hand-drawn using Faber-Castell indian inks on paper, size A4.

ABOUT THE HAMSA HAND
The HAMSA is known as a good luck symbol and comes in the shape of a palm with five fingers that are often connected. It includes other symbols such as fish, eagels, doves and eyes.
A HAMSA is often given as a gift and is thought to ward off negative emotions such as envy and to protect from the "evil eye".
The fish are symbolic of prosperity and fruitfulness. They are mysterious creatures that live beneath the sea and are therefore thought to be more protected from the evil eye as they are under the water.
The eagle flies high and also protects us and symbolizes strength. The dove is a symbol of peace and loyalty, and the eyes of the HAMSA are usually blue in colour to be most powerful in protecting from the "evil eyes" of others.

I have tried to blend my personal style and love of shapes, faces, colours and these symbols into a postive series of artworks that can also be given as a beautiful and positive gift, to wish someone good luck and prosperity.
