Vintage PDF crochet pattern to make a Granny Square Tote Bag, circa 1970's. Use it as a purse, reusable shopping bag, library book tote, etc. Worked in worsted weight yarn on a US size I crochet hook. Each granny square is 4 1/2”. Finished size of tote is approx. 16" x 13".

You will need approx. the following amounts of worsted weight yarn in the colors of your choice to make this bag (Note pattern calls for "1 skein" of each color, though I'm sure you don't come anywhere near using up all of the 272 yards that's in a skein, so your actual needed yardage will be less than pattern states):
Color A - 272 yards
Color B - 272 yards
Color C - 272 yards
Color D - 272 yards

I've completely re-typed and re-formatted this pattern, using larger text than the original, adding spacing between rows/paragraphs where the original lacked it, etc. I believe this will make working from this pattern much more enjoyable for all who use it!

This pattern is written using US/American crochet terminology (as are all of the crochet patterns in my shop unless otherwise noted in item description). For those of you who learned crochet with UK/Australian terminology, a term conversion chart is included in the pattern.
