Description

** PLEASE NOTE - MADE TO ORDER ITEM **

Cats are not the easiest loved ones to buy for - most of them have a fairly limited range of interest that generally involves eating, sleeping, hunting / playing and hairball management. You might think that the humans the cats live with are easy to buy for because you can just buy them some cute kitty note cards or a book telling them everything they already know about cats but, au contraire! We cat carers are not always so keen on those cat themed gifts as you might think...

As a cat lover and slave myself for many years, I know that most cats love to exercise their hunting instincts through play with their human slaves, and many of them are encouraged to do this via the delights of catnip and toys that smell, feel and look like real prey, like feathers, for example.

This kind of play is healthy for kitty and strengthens the bonds between them and their human slaves, who will probably buy an inordinate number of garishly coloured cat toys from pet shops over the years, in an attempt to delight their felines. Invariably, kitty will reject many of the toys and instead select something random like a feather from the garden or a ball of expensive wool to roll around with and kick to pieces - I speak from personal experience. So why fight it? Why not avoid that basket full of garish rejected cat toys in the corner of the living room and give your cat a small selection of toys that they will want to play with and that will last? Or, if you're buying for a cat lover (or new cat owner), don't add to their already sad collection of cat themed books, notebooks or tea towels, buy them something that will give them and their cat hours of fun play and bonding time!

The kitty cuddle collection contains 3 handmade pieces:

The catnip cuddle whale - machine stitched from strong woven cotton ticking with hand stitched detailing, stuffed with fire retardant high loft stuffing and a good dose of quality catnip, this will give kitty a whale of a time! It is the perfect size and shape for hugging to the tummy and biting and kicking with the back legs, whenever the urge arises, and is also a brilliant comfort toy for a kitten to curl up and sleep with. You can also buy the catnip cuddle whale on its own under this listing, which also has more details: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/239016034/the-catnip-cuddle-a-hand-made-cat-toy?ref=shop_home_feat_4

The sheepy ball - I've crocheted this ball using an undyed eco virgin wool and I've stuffed it with pure, soft carded wool and a handful of quality catnip. Although it does smell a bit sheepy from new, the wool is nice and soft and will felt a little over time becoming softer and a little bit fuzzier, but won't shed onto the carpet. It has a circumference of 8.5 inches / 21.5cm and is the perfect size for rolling and wrestling. The colours are all natural cream, brown and grey shades and these will differ from box to box (if you have a very specific preference, let me know when ordering and I'll try and oblige).

The feather fascinator - this will really exercise kitty's prey drive as you flick the feather toy back and forth using the fishing rod handle and it twists and turns like a bird in flight! The feather toy is made by individually hand wrapping feathers onto a chenille covered pipe cleaner using super strong bonded nylon thread. I then cover the pipe cleaner base with black insulation tape to ensure that kitty's mouth and paws won't come into contact with the wire core. The feather toy is attached to the wooden fishing rod using the same nylon thread, which I crochet into chains to add to the strength (this thread can only be broken with scissors) and then hand wrap to the dowel using a technique that requires no glue. The feathers I use are very high quality pheasant feathers from a supplier in Scotland who also supplies milliners with these feathers for hats - only the best for kitty!

If you want to supersize the sheepy ball (see picture 5 for an example of this) or add additional sheepy balls or whales to the pack to suit the preferences of the lucky cat or human slave you're gifting this to, just ask me to create a custom order for you.

If you're buying this as a gift and would like me to send it direct to the recipient with a gift card, just let me know when ordering. And, if you want to know a little bit more about the background and conception of the kitty cuddle selection and how the pieces are made, you can read all about it on my blog: http://www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk/2015/07/17/giving-kitty-a-cuddle/

Cats appearing in product photographs (real and pottery) are not included :D

Once you’ve received your goods, if you are not happy with your purchase for any reason and wish to cancel, please use the model form here, to let me know: http://extfiles.etsy.com/cancellation-forms/EUCancellationFormEN.pdf within 14 calendar days of receiving your order.

Items must be returned to me within a reasonable period and you should obtain proof of postage. Goods should be returned in the same condition and in the same packaging as when they were sent to you, and packed carefully. I reserve the right to refuse any returns if the condition of the item(s) differs from that which was sent out. All refunds will be issued via PayPal within 14 calendar days.

Custom made / made to order items:

I won't accept a return or issue a refund where the reason for return is that you have simply changed your mind.

Shipping policies

On receipt of your order, I'll confirm whether the item you’ve requested is in stock. If it is, I'll usually post it to you within 48 hours. Because of the nature of my items, many of them are handmade to order and if this is the case, I'll confirm the estimated dispatch date to you on receipt of your order.

WHERE I SHIP TO: I ship worldwide and shipping costs are given for each item. For countries ouside the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and Japan, I only ship via the Royal Mail's tracked service and the prices shown include this service for those countries. The countries I ship my cat toys to are restricted due to local customs laws - for example, I don't ship any of my cat toys to Australia.

TRACKING: For larger / more valuable items, the shipping costs stated already include UK signed for postage or Tracked postage for International shipping, but I do also offer some shipping upgrades for most other domestic and international packages, which you will see as an option in your cart when you check out. One of the upgrades is for tracked international postage, which is the best international service available at a reasonable cost. International Tracked items receive priority handling and benefit from an online tracking facility so you can check your items's progress right through to delivery.

UNDELIVERED ITEMS: Please note that I cannot be responsible for items sent outside the UK that fail to arrive at their destination, without the benefit of tracked international shipping. In my experience though, items being genuinely 'lost in the post' is a VERY rare occurrence.

SPECIAL RATES FOR EUROPE: If you're in Continental Europe and would like to upgrade your Standard Shipping item to the tracked service, please message for a quotation, as it will probably be lower than shown at checkout.

SENDING GIFTS: I'm also happy to post direct to a giftee and include a hand written message, without you needing to purchase the additional gift wrap service - either include this on your order or convo me separately, whichever is easier for you.

GUARANTEED DELIVERY: If you have other particular postage or delivery needs, please convo me to discuss. Please note that I can't expedite or guarantee delivery internationally, but the service to most countries is already generally pretty quick from the UK (for example, 1 to 2 weeks to the USA, depending on the time of year - Christmas is busiest).

DELIVERY TIMEFRAME: Delivery is always as per the Royal Mail’s estimated delivery timetable (see the Post Office web site: http://www.postoffice.co.uk/).

CUSTOMS: Please note that responsibility for compliance with your country's laws and procedures regarding any conditions or restrictions applied to the item(s) you order from me, rests entirely with you, at all times. I'm also not responsible for any costs or charges that might be applied by your country's border / customs authorities.

Additional policies

I transact all business in English and in accordance with UK law.

None of the items offered for sale on this site are suitable as toys for children.

Whilst every effort is made to provide an accurate representation of items for sale, small details may vary due to the handmade nature of the items. If I need to substitute a material used for a design, I'll obtain your agreement in the first instance and cancel the order with no charge to you, if the substitute is unacceptable to you.

Please be aware that colours vary between computer monitors so whilst my photographs are as accurate as possible, the colours may appear differently to you on screen to the physical item.
