Description

This personalised house portrait, an original ink and watercolour art work, is the perfect hand drawn housewarming or anniversary gift.

A beautiful hand-drawn illustration of your home (or any other building: wedding venue, holiday house, shed?) in pen and ink, then coloured with watercolour.

DESIGN PROCESS

I will create your custom illustration from your photos, and am happy to add in extra details (a beloved cat, perhaps, or a riot of blooms on a favourite rose) on request. I can also add a hand-lettered caption beneath the image if desired ('The Smiths' or '41 Acacia Avenue' for example).

Please send your photo(s) as soon as possible after purchasing the listing so we can get started, along with any other requests or preferences for your artwork. If you are also able to provide an address to be identified on google maps, that's lovely. I will send a scan of the black and white sketch for your approval before moving onto the colour and always respond (and rework if necessary) following feedback.

I love adding as much detail as possible to these illustrations, so feel free to inundate me with pictures of all your home's beautiful features. This is an entirely hand-drawn and watercoloured artwork on A4 300gsm heavyweight watercolour paper, measuring 29.7 x 21cm.

Your original illustration can either be unframed and packaged in a cellophane sleeve, or framed in a beautiful frame that complements the artwork. I use either white or black wooden frames with off-white mounts as standard, chosen to suit the finished piece, but please state if you have a preference. My frames all come with acrylic glaze - just as clear as glass but much lighter and safer to hang (and post!). If you'd like more details about the frames available, please just ask.

TIMINGS

These custom artworks usually take around two-three weeks from your order to completion, but I may be able to deliver more quickly in some circumstances - just ask.

POSTAGE AND DELIVERY

Your artwork will come beautifully wrapped and then safely packed to survive the post, sent by Royal Mail or Parcelforce depending on the size of the package. First class mail in the UK takes 1-2 working days, and international standard to the US takes 5-7 working days. All orders over £20 are sent by recorded mail. Contact me for alternative or expedited shipping options.

If you're not happy with anything you've bought from me, please let me know and I'll do what I can to refund or replace. I'm afraid I can't cancel or refund custom orders once I've started work on your illustration, so if you have any problems please do contact me as soon as possible.

Shipping policies

I will send all non-custom orders within three business days of payment, and usually within one business day if at all possible.

Let me know if you need anything super-quickly and I'll do my best. Communication is key!

I use Royal Mail First Class as standard, and all prints and cards are sent in heavy-duty board-backed envelopes to ensure they reach you safely. Note cards and larger items are packed in thick card wraps, Amazon-style, or cardboard boxes.

Orders in excess of £20 are automatically sent by recorded mail and will require a signature on delivery.

I will send orders to the address listed on the Etsy order. If you would prefer your order sent elsewhere, please get in touch via Etsy message to confirm. I'm happy to resend orders that are returned to me due to an incorrect address, but customers will need to bear the cost if it's a result of their listing the wrong address on their Etsy account!

Standard domestic postage is free and overseas postage just requires a small surcharge as detailed on each listing.

Additional policies

Copyrights of all illustrations (including custom orders) are non-transferable with sale. If you're interested in purchasing the copyright for your image, please contact me.

I may use any illustrations, including custom orders, for advertising and promotion including, but not limited to, my social media, website and hard copy print. All identifying features (names, addresses etc) will be removed in advance. If you would prefer me not to use your custom illustration for these purposes, please contact me to discuss.

If your custom order requires me to work closely from a photo, please ensure you have copyright (it's your photo) or have requested permission from the copyright owner (for example, your wedding photographer).

Customers are responsible for thoroughly checking their print proof (particularly address details!) and I cannot take responsibility for any errors that were signed off at proof stage. If necessary, I will happily reprint as cost-effectively as possible but customers will need to bear these costs. I take full responsibility for correcting and reprinting if any errors are identified in the final product that WERE NOT present in the proof.

All commissions and custom orders are undertaken on the basis that these conditions are accepted.
