4.5 out of 5 starsThis is a fun project with simple instructions to follow and a beginner crochet novice can make this with some lookups on how-to-crochet-a-magic-ring on YouTube. I had difficulty downloading the PDF initially as there was two links on the invoice. I figured it out eventually but it wasn’t a simple one click. The 10 hours to make is very misleading. It took several days to make all the different components from the body, heads, feet, ears and then time to sew everything together including a trip to the store to purchase eyes and filler then figure out how to attach. It takes time to sew the mouths also. I also had to add another two sheep to cover the width of my door so be sure to measure your door before finishing the body tube. Great project otherwise.

This pattern seems to get 5 stars from most people. I am not a beginner but have had a lot of trouble with it. I found the alpaca bouclé yarn impossible to work with as I couldn't see the stitches. The cotton was also difficult as the hook kept splitting the yarn which is like embroidery thread. Not something you can do with an eye on the tv. I found an error in the pattern and contacted the writer but had no reply. I have a lot of alpaca left - presumably because I had to add in another yarn to enable me to see what I had done - but ran out of the pale grey cotton with 8 feet to make! TIP - sew the feet on before the heads as it makes it more stable to place them correctly. What was the fabric glue (as mentioned in pattern list of necessities) for? Never mentioned again. I'm sticking with it as it is a present.
