Below are details of the STANDARD skein winder (With no Electronic Counter)

This Skein Winder is handmade to order, in the Cotswold Craft Cottage. It is strong and sturdy and can be clamped to a table or work bench or free stand on the floor. Its has a steel spinning mechanism to give you low friction easy winding. It will wind a skein direct from your spinning wheel or from a bobbin on a Lazy Kate. It winds a very even skein with all strands of an even length and can be set up for 2 meter or 1.5 meter skeins. It is easy to work out your total yarn length.

The Cotswold Cottage Skein Winder comes flat pack, for cheaper postage, with easy assembly instructions. We have a video to show you exactly how it should go together. You will need a cross head screw driver and a 13 mm or adjustable spanner. Assembly instructions are included, along with a few tips on using your Cotswold Craft Cottage Skein Winder.

Optional Craft Clamps (set of 2) can be added that will clamp your skein winder onto a table or work bench of up to 8 cm thickness (3 2/16 inch) A thick piece of card or cloth should be used to protect your table from scratches.

If you would like your skein winder to measure in Metres chose Metric in the options. For Yards please chose Imperial in the options.

I love this replacement for my umbrella swift! It is beautifully made and has an ultra smooth action. I have used it both horizontally ("Amish" style) and vertically. At last I have clamps which fit my table. It looks lovely too. Communication was great. Thank you so much.
