This is a listing for a PDF knitting pattern to make your own pair of fair isle fingerless gloves.
The pattern uses just 2 balls of Rowan Fine Tweed in a main colour, with up to 7 colours for the fair isle cuff. Perfect for using up stash oddments! Choices given for main colours, fair isle cuffs and hem. Photo of beige pair shows a slight difference to charted pattern but is essentially the same.
The pattern is for knitting in the round and is available in the English language only. Includes 2 charted colourways for the fair isle cuff (Blue and Rust), written instructions for either picot or ribbed hem and written instructions for body of mitts with thumb gusset and thumb.
One size - to fit medium sized woman's hand 7 - 8 inches around palm (18 - 20cm)
Intermediate: knowledge of knitting stranded colourwork in the round, reading charts
Main colour - fingering weight / 4ply yarn
Shown in Rowan Fine Tweed (100% wool, 98yds / 90m, 25g)
with main body of the mitts in shades Buckden (grey) and Bedale (beige)
Colourwork cuff - fingering weight yarn oddments - approximately 10-20g of up to 7 colours. Suggested yarns: Brooklyn Tweed Loft, JC Rennie Supersoft Lambswool, Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift, Rowan Fine Tweed
30 st and 36 rnds = 4 inches / 10cm over stranded colourwork pattern using larger needles
28 st and 40 rnds = 4 inches / 10cm over plain stocking stitch using smaller needles
Sizes 2.75mm and 3mm (US2-3) or size required to obtain gauge - DPNs or circulars for working small circumferences in the round
Stitch holder / waste yarn, stitch markers, tapestry needle
