St. Pancras & The Piano :

St Pancras Station was opened in 1868 and is one of the wonders of Victorian Gothic Architecture and one of the most elegant stations in the World. The building is remarkable for being constructed largely from materials brought by rail from the Midlands, including the sandstone, red brick and the ironwork of the station roof and staircases. Carved stone capitals and bosses show a remarkable variety of high quality work, with granite columns gracing many of the arches. Taking inspiration from such buildings as the Cloth Hall at Ypres, Scott’s work harked back to a medley of periods in gothic architecture.

Spot a red piano?

St. Pancras London, is famous for it's public pianos, for any one to play.
On February this year, St. Pancras had a surprise visitor. Sir Elton John himself. If that wasn’t enough of a highlight, he starting playing on a piano... delighting an unsuspecting crowd.

Before leaving, he left a note on it: “Enjoy this piano. It’s a gift. Love, Elton John.”

In this print I thought of celebrating the moment and featuring his most famous 'Red Piano' against the mammoth Gothic backdrop of the St. Pancras clock tower.

I used to live very close to the station, often visiting it for mid night coffees ... and at times pulled in by the haunting sounds of the piano coming from the other end!

FAQs

Royal Mail gives a tracking number with every International delivery. This tracking is updated at various check points.

First checkpoint- When it leaves UK and reaches the destination country.
The next update in tracking will only happen once the parcel has gone through and cleared by customs. This could take anywhere between 5- 20 days depending on the country. So if the tracking has not updated in the meantime, your item is probably in queue at customs.
The next tracking update will happen when the item has come out of custom centre and reaches the local Post Office for delivery.

I cannot predict how long an international delivery can take. For example a parcel to France has taken 7 days, and in another time 30 days!
You can get the perfect sized frames at John Lewis. A4/ A3/ A2 with and without mounts. You can also get the prints framed at a local framer. The reason I don't ship frames is because the weight increases the price of shipping exponentially and no guarantee of non breakage. Since these are fairly standard size prints, it works out better to get the framing done at your end.
The word Giclée ("g-clay"), is derived from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt or spray". It a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with 100% cotton paper to achieve prints of superior archival quality, that will not fade for more than 70 years.

The process involves squirting or spraying microscopic dots of pigment-based ink onto high quality art paper or canvas. The image is colour corrected to attain the closest possible match to the original work if required.

In short- Matte prints are brilliant, but Giclee is special.
