Red Sun

This archival print is one of an edition of 100 and is from an original ‘one-off’ wood-cut and silkscreen print, with additional lino-cut printed details. I have been printing my ‘Tree’ series for a few years. Each tree is slightly different, with varying colours and arrangements of leaves, flowers, birds, etc. Suggesting changing landscapes and different seasons throughout the year. I like to mix printing techniques together in my work so as well as using wood-cut printing, I also use silkscreen, lino-cut and hand-made stamps in each print work, gradually building up layers of shape, colour, texture and pattern using these techniques.

‘Red Sun’ is printed onto a gorgeous high quality archival 315 gram paper with Epsom Ultrachrome inks and includes shades of a rich reddish brown for the earth and tree, orange red for the sun and pale pink, silver-grey and brown-black for the leaves.

The paper size is A3 (42cm x 30cm ) and the actual image size measures just under 27cm high x 27cm wide at its widest points. In the second photo I have displayed it in a frame similar to an Ikea “Virserum” frame 30cm x 40cm. This print should fit nicely into most standard A3 frames.

The print is sent unmounted and unframed but will be carefully wrapped in acid free tissue paper and rolled in a cardboard tube to to ensure it reaches you safely.

Just a final note, I have described the colours of the print as carefully as I can, but please bear in mind monitor colours do vary.
