• Who is it for? UK landlords, HMO and holiday let owners, letting agents, guest houses, B&Bs, small offices, gyms, shops and cafés who want clear legionella and water temperature records.
• What doesn't it do? It is not a legionella risk assessment, not a water test, not an official HSE form, and it does not replace work by a competent person.
• Do I need a legionella certificate? HSE says health and safety law does not require landlords to obtain or produce a legionella test certificate. Keeping simple records of your checks, like these, shows what you have done.
• Do I need special software? No. A free PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader is enough, or you can just print the sheets.
• Can I fill it in on my phone? Yes, in Adobe Acrobat Reader on iPhone or Android, but a computer or tablet is easier for the bigger sheets.
• Can I change the checks? Yes. The checks on Sheet 2 are fillable fields, so you can type your own wording and frequencies to match your risk assessment. You add your own outlets, tanks and TMVs.
