Before you purchase an item of our beautiful hand stamped cutlery you may want to know a little more about it.

Each item we stamp is a genuine vintage silver plated piece which has been sourced and purchased by Dormouse and The Teapot from within the UK. We stamp each letter of your chosen phrase individually by hand using traditional tools and methods in our little workshop situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors. It is then carefully cleaned and polished, before being wrapped up in our pretty tissue paper, tape and stickers.

Each piece is unique so the picture you see above is only a representative example of this piece, we cannot guarantee a specific design or handle. Due to the nature of stamping there may be variations in alignment and spacing of letters. As every item is genuinely old, there may be some light scratches and signs of wear, all part of the charm. Wash only by hand, and handle with love and care.

If you would like a custom or personalised item please contact us first for a quote. Please note that we do not copy other people's designs or use copyrighted wording, please do not ask us to do so. We can however work with you to suggest appropriate wording and designs if you would like assistance with this. It is important to note that custom and personalised items are not refundable unless they arrive damaged. In this case we will repair, replace or refund on receipt of your returned item.

All our items are sent in our trademark dotty envelopes and are wrapped in pretty tissue paper, tape and stickers ready for gifting.

There is no extra charge for this service.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to provide correct postal address.

Should you provide a wrong address please contact us straight away and we will do our best to help. However we will not take responsibility for orders posted to a wrong address provided by the buyer and should the buyer not receive their item a refund will not be issued.

Please note if you are purchasing from abroad or requesting us to send items outside of the UK you are personally responsible for knowing the legalities of importing such items into the destination country. We are not responsible for any losses of items held or destroyed by customs. We will not refund or resend in such cases.

Each letter and design is stamped individually by hand on our items, therefore each piece is unique and the picture you see in the listing is only a representative example.

Due to the nature of stamping there may be variations in alignment, depth and spacing of letters, each letter will not be perfectly even. Please note it is likely that there will be marks and 'bumps' on the reverse of the item, this is unfortunately unavoidable as during the stamping process metal is displaced rather than removed. This is not a defect in your piece, but makes it even more unique.

Please do contact us straight away if you receive your order and it is incorrectly spelled/ worded or not the item you ordered and we will work with you to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Please remember are only responsible for a misspelled item if the fault is ours. We can not be held responsible for errors made by buyer - please thoroughly check that you have given personalised and customised details correctly and EXACTLY written as you wish them to appear. We will not correct incorrect capitalisation, punctuation, grammar, spelling or miswording.

All items are made to order please allow the time stated on the listing to produce, finish and wrap your item BEFORE it is posted.

UK postage is free and is by 2nd Class Royal Mail. It is possible to upgrade to 1st class postage for a small fee, please select this option on the listing when ordering. Estimated delivery times are on the the Royal Mail Website.

Postage to EU Europe, non EU Europe and World Zone 1 and 2 is by Royal Mail International Tracked/& Signed, there are additional charges for this please select this option on the listing when ordering. Estimated delivery times are on the Royal Mail Website, please note this estimate does not allow for time in customs or postal delays in the destination country.

Last ordering dates for Christmas delivery are shown below with Royal Mail's recommended posting dates shown in brackets. Please note we can only guarantee that your order will be sent on or before Royal Mail's recommended last posting date, NOT that your item will reach you before Christmas. Your item may be subject to delays in the post or at customs and such hold ups are unfortunately out of our control. Please order as early as you possibly can to avoid disappointment.

International orders are sent by Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed. Tracked only in Australia.

All our orders are sent free by Royal Mail 2nd Class as standard. It is possible to upgrade to 1st Class for a small extra fee. We also offer the option to send your item by Signed For post however this does not effect the delivery time.
