Fully illustrated and detailed tutorial on how to make pure gold paint from a book of leaf and how to apply it to add that tasteful bling to artwork. Luckily, a little goes a very long way. Good enough to sit alongside the fabled Il Libro del'Arte in my Medieval / Renaissance library stack (currently incomplete).

A very detailed and helpful guide to painting with gold pigment! Includes information on turning gold leaf into pigment, how to paint and draw straight lines with it, sprinkling it, and some sample designs that can be painted. (Note: this book doesn't include information on gilding). I've consulted this resource a number of times since first downloading it. Would definitely recommend this book to those interested in traditional arts!

The true authority on the subject. Accurate information in a simplified, yet rich and comple form. No imitation here. This is the best instruction available anywhere on this subject, next to training in person with a master of the craft.
