  • Materials: coloured plastic

This is a set of 40 x 4 hole tablet weaving cards. The cards of made of coloured thin and durable plastic. The cards measure 6 cm x 6 cm. The plastic weaving cards are .5 mm in thickness.
The set of Paivatar tablet weaving cards come in 4 colours - 10 of each.
The set of 40 tablet weaving cards are packaged in an organza mesh bag.

One face of the card has a logo, the other side is blank. The multiple colours allow you to use different colours if you are turning groups of cards in different directions. The cards are not numbered, but you can easily write numbers or letters on them with a permanent marker to help you keep track while weaving. Be sure to let the ink dry before using the tablets.

I had been using matt board tablets previously but found that they tend to wear out fairly quickly. I designed these cards to be made of plastic so that they would be able to withstand the friction that is placed on the tablets during weaving. The plastic tablets are not mass produced. but are made locally by skilled craftsmen.

The cards are slightly smaller than the standard tablet weaving cards that are on the market (60 mm square) Because the cards are thin and slightly smaller in size than other tablet weaving cards, I find it easy to hold several in my hand - and I have fairly small hands. The thinner size is also better when working with fine yarns as it allows the warp yarns to be sett closer together, much as in weaving with a fine dent reed.

The holes in the cards are also slightly smaller than the standard cards. This helps to keep the warp threads in alignment while weaving, as there is less play in the warp.

The set of Paivatar tablet weaving cards will make a wonderful Christmas or birthday gift for the historical reenactor or craft person in your life.

I love the cards! They are amazing and a good size for someone with small hands like me ^_^ Different colours on the cards makes weaving more complex patterns a lot easier! Paivi was a great help with everything and I would absolutely buy from her again!

Not as rigid as I thought they'd be but an excellent product. Great for using with fine silk, linen or embroidery thread. Love the different colours - makes it simple to separate different picks :) Super quick Int'l postage.

Thin and durable, familiar with my little hand, it is very easy to rotate! The color of the card is different, it is convenient and comfortable to use. Thank you very much!

Very prompt and professional service. The seller was extremely helpful & knowledgeable. I have found the tablets very easy to use although a little slippier and just a couple of mm smaller (from side to side) than my usual playing cards tablets. These are not problems just small differences by way of a helpful comparison. The tablet are extremely well made; the edges of the sides and holes are extremely smooth - not an easy task with this type material. The real advantage, for me, is having 10 cards of each solid colour. This is such a help for split pack "threaded in" patterns and virtually eliminates any errors due to mis-picking of card groups.
