Description

An eating spoon carved from sycamore with a decorated handle. This design has been used throughout history, from the Romans to the Medieval period. It's pronounced bowl shape is also similar to the welsh cawl spoons. I like simple decoration and think the bold red handle is really striking.

- A freshly cut sycamore billet is axed into shape.

- The design is then refined and carved with a variety of knives.

- Set aside to dry before finishing with a knife.

- The handle is painted with red acrylic. Please note this will gradually wear with use.

- Finished in walnut oil. Not suitable if you have a nut allergy.

- It measures 175 mm.
