First Signs of Summer A4 Print.

The 'First Signs Of Summer' A4 print is the next in my new series of seasonal 'First Signs'. Markers and signs that indicate the next season is on it's way. Noticing these small changes is a great way of being present, and appreciating the incredible beauty that is on our doorstep throughout the year.

Signs that Summer is on the way are not as marked as those for Spring, once we hit May everything seems to move so fast in the nature world.

But there are some that are synonymous with the arrival of summer.


Look out for:

Migratory birds returning - look out for swallows, houemartins and the screams of swift flying.

Busy Insects - ladybirds and dragonflies emerging

Fledglings - baby animals and birds

Bees collecting pollen

Trees in full leaf

Summer flowers in bloom - poppies, cornflower, oxeye daisy

Butterflies on flowers - some of the first butterflies to be spotted are orange tip and comma



All of the images were drawn, inked and watercoloured, some were drawn on location from life, others in my studio from photographs taken.

This is a digital print, reproduced with archival inks on archival paper (the colours will not fade). The print will be signed on the reverse, and well packaged in a biodegradable sleeve and a hard backed envelope
