I like to treat each painting as a journey and the symbolism appears like magic, it just flows without sketching. My only plan was to have two crows in the painting. The burial mound or ancient shamanic chamber in the distance, appeared by accident then the stones all with symbolism, at one point the covered over in layers like history hides the past.
Within this are symbols from nature to DNA and the ancient Petroglyphs from Albion (England). The magical spirals symbolise, to ascend or descend, life and rebirth. The ancient Celts used the spiral within their art as they knew the power, magic and intent of symbolism and pattern.
Each one of my painting is created in layers, using inks and gouache, to illustrate the hidden and the visible within depth of myth and legend. So some of the detail is lost a bit like history, but it’s still there if you look deep enough.
This myth is set on a late evening sunset of a November evening. With nine standing stones connected to the mound or a chamber for rites of passage and connection to the earth. A crow is the observer of the story that unfolds, whilst the crow circling relays the vision of transformation
I won’t say more about this image as maybe your creativity could unfold a journey, a stepping stone to your own epic myth or rite of passage. Not the myth or narrative programmed by TV, the news or government, but your story with imagination and magic. With loss of identity, divide and conquer we often fail to realise a path deep within, each and every one of us. I like the psychology of Carl Young and the philosophy of Joseph Campbell regarding archetypes, rites of passage and the hero’s journey. With loss of rites of passage, many still seek the hero’s journey but not consciously as we would in ancient times
This is the 10th painting from The Ancestors Awakening collection following on from the Morrigan, a crow sitting in a tree at 3am and the crescent moon

Such a striking design and the colours are wonderful. I love contemplating our ancestors when I drink from it too. We have sis of these mugs in different designs and love them all. The mugs are a good size and, unlike many mugs, have nice big handles that don't hurt your fingers. Wonderful. Thank you.

These cards are outstanding. I am impressed with the size. Even though it says clearly in the description I hadn't realised how big they'd be. It goes without saying I love EvolutionbyDesignArt's designs and I will definitely buy more. I am delighted with the cards and satisfied with despatch and delivery.

Just lovely. I have the shamanic bee print too and the reproduction quality of the image on this mug is excellent. The only downside is that it causes bickering between me and my husband over who will use it each day! The mugs are lovely too; a good size and the handles are comfortably large. Thank you.
