paper, ink, acrylic, dip, pen, screen, silkscreen, skill

I was reading a little book of Buddhist scripture called 'The Buddha's Law Amongst The Birds' and was rather taken by what the Raven said. Unlike western birds always threatening us with menacing nevermores, he said 'help will come'. So I made it into a poster.
Open edition

Inspiration: Did you know that the Raven is the national bird of Bhutan? And that's supposed to be the happiest country. Ravens and crow mythology is widespread but for some reason he appears to have been branded as a trickster or bad omen more often in the west, so I made a print to show that not everyone thinks that. Love corvids? Me too!

Process: I painted the original directly on the screen, using rubbings for textures. The writing is handwritten by me. Then I printed it onto acetate so I could reprint editions using a more hard-wearing screen made using diazo.

Know someone who is having a hard time? Having one yourself? Buy this poster as the perfect gift to reassure that everything will work out in the end. Somehow or other it will. Raven said so. Frame it for a wall; post it to a friend; pop it in a scrapbook. Don't forget to see my other matching products, like the matching raven moleskine.

Size: Printed by me on acid free, smooth, heavy weight, A4 cartridge paper. A4 is 297x210mm (11.7.8.3 inches) Fits standard sized frames (either for A4 or 8x10) (frames are not provided)

Materials: I use water based (eco friendly) acrylic inks darkest prussian blue reminiscent of ravens amazing plumage to create a direct, striking artprint. All materials are archival to last as an heirloom into the future.

Framing: Please note I cannot accept international orders for framed prints. In this instance, please select unframed, Thanks.

Now available to order fully framed in a white wooden frame (please see final photo). These frames are a spacious 302 x 382mm, with 2cm x 2cm white subtle wood textured moulding made by framishly in the U.K. There is a white mount with an A4 opening.

The frames are fronted with clear styrene, and have an MDF back board kept in with flexipins. They each come ready to hang. Important stuff: My screenprints are hand printed and hand registered by eye and unlike computer generated images are subject to slight variations that make each a unique piece of art.
