Accessories & Stands, Part 6 E-Book By Elena Kunin

(Note: This is an electronic pdf eBook. There are no refunds on electronic files. Watermark on pictures will not appear on your downloadable purchase file)

The sixth volume of my full course Private Lessons is devoted to additional elements of a doll composition, in particular, accessories and stands.

They are very important components of a doll image since they largely determine its quality. Accessories are the very thing that can help to accurately determine the total artistic level of a work. They must match the doll in size, color, texture, style, stylization degree, etc. It is extremely difficult to buy an ideal accessory for an art doll. It is much easier and more interesting to make it yourself.

The world of doll items is as vast and varied as the world of human things. They can be also made from various materials, both ordinary and bizarre. To achieve a particular effect, these materials can be processed in dozens of different ways, each of which has its own technology. It is obvious that the theme of accessories is inexhaustible; therefore, it has been quite difficult for me to select the materials and techniques to be included in this volume.

I have tried to select the accessories so that to provide as much information as possible on working with various materials (polymer clay, papier-mâché, fabric paint, acrylic, pastel, Genesis paint, beads, bullion metal thread, foamiran, «cold porcelain», leather, fabric, etc.). A significant part of the presented in this volume techniques, I have developed myself.

Together we will make amber jewelry, cakes, flowers, a masquerade mask; a fashionable hat with feathers; a crocodile leather handbag, a beaded bag, wings from silk and papier-mâché; flowers from «cold porcelain» and foamiran, and many more.

In addition, I will teach you to decorate stands and to securely fix dolls on them.
You will learn how to achieve a stylistic unity between accessories and a doll and how to arrange additional elements in the composition harmoniously.
This volume contains 621 step-by-step photos.

About The Artist

Elena Kunin is a Master of art history and theory (Moscow State University), an artist (a member of the Russian Artists Union), a lecturer. She has worked in Moscow museums, specializing in applied art and the history of costume. Elena has been also engaged in classical painting and icon restoration.

Elena made her first dolls in 1987 and has developed on her own many techniques for working with polymer clay. The range of her work is very wide: from metaphorical creations to illustrations and portraits. Essentially what unites them all is the material from which they are made, Living Doll polymer clay. In recent years Elena has used Genesis heat set paint, which makes the painting more exquisite and at the same time more durable.

Over the years she has taken part in many exhibitions in Europe, the United States, and Russia, and she has also held several personal exhibitions. Elena’s work can be found in museums and the finest private collections around the world, and they have often been recognized with prestigious professional awards. A large number of collectors value original and sophisticated artistic solutions in Elena’s work, its richness and its great technical quality.

In addition, for nearly 20 years now Elena has taught the art of dollmaking in various countries. She has led both academic courses (170 hours) and short courses (30 hours), as well as a variety of master classes. In 2006 Elena released the how-to book Character Dolls from Polymer Clay, which has become very popular among Russian-speaking dollmakers and artists.

I am just getting in to armatures. This tutorial (more of a pictorial really) shows clearly, step by step, exactly how to create a very lifelike figure armature. Well worth the price.

This e-class is very User Friendly. The super diagrams make it so so easy to follow. I would recommend it to both a beginner and intermediate artist...Beginner because it’s so well displayed and written ... and to an Intermediate because it demonstrates how to sculpt a doll with lots of personality. Love it !!!
