The third volume of Private Lessons, the full doll making course by Elena Kunin , is devoted to doll painting. Together we will paint the faces, hands and feet of three different dolls. Highly-detailed step-by-step photos give a full picture of what you need to know when painting dolls of different sizes, as well as young and old faces. Special attention is devoted to painting eyes: this is shown not only in the step-by-step photos, but also in video. You will learn how to paint over polymer clay with different kinds of paint: Genesis heat set paints, oil paints and pastels. I will describe in detail the special characteristics of Genesis paints, including the peculiarities of baking them. This volume includes detailed tips on what paintbrushes, paint thinners, varnishes and paint mediums it is best to use. Apart from that, I will tell you how to paint a doll so that it agrees with its general color solution.

About The Artist
Elena Kunin is a Master of art history and theory (Moscow State University), an artist (a member of the Russian Artists Union), a lecturer. She has worked in Moscow museums, specializing in applied art and the history of costume. Elena has been also engaged in classical painting and icon restoration.
Elena made her first dolls in 1987 and has developed on her own many techniques for working with polymer clay. The range of her work is very wide: from metaphorical creations to illustrations and portraits. Essentially what unites them all is the material from which they are made, Living Doll polymer clay. In recent years Elena has used Genesis heat set paint, which makes the painting more exquisite and at the same time more durable.
Over the years she has taken part in many exhibitions in Europe, the United States, and Russia, and she has also held several personal exhibitions. Elena’s work can be found in museums and the finest private collections around the world, and they have often been recognized with prestigious professional awards. A large number of collectors value original and sophisticated artistic solutions in Elena’s work, its richness and its great technical quality.
In addition, for nearly 20 years now Elena has taught the art of dollmaking in various countries. She has led both academic courses (170 hours) and short courses (30 hours), as well as a variety of master classes. In 2006 Elena released the how-to book Character Dolls from Polymer Clay, which has become very popular among Russian-speaking dollmakers and artists.

I am just getting in to armatures. This tutorial (more of a pictorial really) shows clearly, step by step, exactly how to create a very lifelike figure armature. Well worth the price.
This e-class is very User Friendly. The super diagrams make it so so easy to follow. I would recommend it to both a beginner and intermediate artist...Beginner because it’s so well displayed and written ... and to an Intermediate because it demonstrates how to sculpt a doll with lots of personality. Love it !!!
I purchased the queen Anne doll pattern and will be making this dress for her. Looks fun and challenging. Easy download I finished my Queen Anne from this pattern. I plan to make more.
