Description

Crochet pattern for "Abundance" - a top down flowing everyday crochet cardigan.

With fitted sleeves and draping fabric, Abundance can be worn double breasted, fastened at the neck, or left open waterfall style.

The cardigan is worked using the seamless top down yoke method. If you are not familiar with this, please have a look at this blog post which explains why it’s such a great way to crochet sweaters and cardigans!
https://doradoes.co.uk/2019/01/29/demystifying-crochet-garment-making-top-down-crochet-sweaters-explained/

Materials
Abundance uses 4ply / fingering weight yarn and a 4mm crochet hook.
The garment pictured uses Drops Flora (6-12 balls (300-600g) depending on size chosen), but any suitable 4ply / lightweight yarn which meets gauge should work. Further advice on yarn substitution is given in the pattern.

Skill Level
This is an easy to intermediate pattern using a simple stitch pattern.
You will need to know how to work basic crochet stitches, work in rows and the round and count!
The pattern works in block stitch using extended double crochet (UK extended treble) stitches which is a simple modification of the standard double crochet (UK treble) (stitch description given in pattern).
The pattern calls for use of foundation chains (which are explained), but modifications are given if you prefer to work into a starting chain.

Sizes
The cardigan is designed to be close fitting on the arms with an abundance of fabric to wrap around your body. The pattern is written in sizes XS through to 3X (bust 74-134cm)
However, because the pattern uses the top down method, you can easily adjust the fit as you go.

The pattern is written using US Crochet terms and is delivered via a PDF Download

My Pinterest is full of other beautiful crocheters work too (there is SO MUCH talent out there!) so it’s worth having a nose!!
