Tired of people grabbing your wheelchair without asking? Frustrated by not having your autonomy respected? Worried when people walk behind your wheelchair because what if this is another one who thinks you exist for their emotional gratification? Try ANTI-GRABS, the newest innovation in making abled people leave you the heck alone. These removable covers for your wheelchair's handles feature 23 individual metal spikes each, that's 46 ways to keep """"helpful"""" hands away and signal to the world that you're not here for that nonsense.

Anti-grabs measure 10x13cm, and are suitable for handles 8-12cm around. They feature a keep-safe strap to connect them to your wheelchair and prevent them getting lost when not in use. The keep-safe strap comes with four options to affix them to your wheelchair: velcro, elastic, eyelet, and plain (just a loop of webbing attached to the anti-grab).

Green Anti-grabs are made with PVC imitation leather.

How to use Anti-grabs
1. Affix the keep-safe strap to your wheelchair
Anti-grabs feature a keep-safe strap to connect them to your wheelchair and prevent them getting lost when not in use. The keep-safe strap comes with four options to affix them to your wheelchair: velcro, elastic, eyelet, and plain (just a loop of webbing attached to the anti-grab).

Velcro : simply wrap the doublesided Velcro around part of your wheelchair near the handles.

Elastic loop: pull the elastic loop over your wheelchair's handle grips until it sits on the metal. This option is not suitable for all wheelchairs.

Eyelet: locate and unscrew a bolt or screw near your wheelchair's handles (for example the top bolt in an adjustable tension backrest). Put the bolt through the eyelet and screw back into the wheelchair.

Plain: tie them on, loop them on, ziptie them on, the possibilities are endless.

2. Attach to your handle grips
Wrap the anti-grabs around the handle grips and velcro together. Wheel away with style and conidence!

3. Temporary removal
If you need someone to propel your wheelchair, or want to temporarily remove them for other reasons, pull down on the tab underneath the velcro until the Anti-Grabs come away from the handles. The keep-safe strap will stop them getting lost until you need to reattach them.

FAQ
*they look sharp! What if they hurt someone?
Anti-Grabs are made with the same rivets found on punk style clothing and accessories. They're pretty blunt, and someone would have to be pushing down hard enough to tip the chair over before they hurt themselves.

• I want them to match my wheelchair/outfit. Can I get them in colours that aren't listed?
If you want Anti-Grabs in different colours of fabric, rivets, or keep-safe strap, get in touch and I'll see what I can do. Custom orders may cost more, as I may have to source different or small-order materials.

*People grab other parts of my wheelchair, can I you make something to warn them off?
YES! I'm happy to make anti-grabs to fit your backbar or other parts of your chair, get in touch to discuss what you need.

*I have a different mobility aid I want spikes on, can you help?
YES! I personally have a spiked walking stick and a rollator, get in touch to discuss what you need.

Allergys and allergen contamination
+ made in a pet free, smoke free home, BUT I pretty a lot of dogs when I go out so there is a risk of contamination.

+ made in a 100% chronically ill home, so we're not as in top of the cleaning as I'd like. Also Anti-Grabs are made next to an open-plan kitchen where people bake. If you are conserned about dust or wheet/gluten contamination, please get in touch to see if I can make you Anti-Grabs safer.

+ I don't usually know what type of metal/s the rivets are made of. If this is a consern, get in touch and I'll see what I can do.

+ the fabric is usually leatherette/PVC. If this is a consern, get in touch and I can make them from different material.

+ I use a small amount of glue or stickytape to keep the velcro in place while sewing. If this might be a problem, get in touch and I can make you some without.
