Stained glass mosaic on mdf with a tile trim surround.
I wanted to create a gnarled and twisted tree that was clinging on to the cliff edge and growing against all the odds. Battling against the elements and subjected to poor soil, it still manages to grow, hold onto life. Despite, and because of, Mother Nature, it survives.
I've named this stained glass mosaic Esse, which means essential nature, or essence. The orange background is suggestive of circles of light, sunrise, hope, radiating out.
Every tiny piece is cut to shape by hand. As well as stained glass, I've used glass nuggets and millefiori.
It measures 54cm x 54cm (approx. 21 1/4" x 21 1/4") and has a French cleat system of hanging - one of the photos shows this and I'll post it with the piece that attaches to the wall for it to rest on.
For shipping, I make a solid crate, which it fits in securely.

Gorgeous cards, lovely quality, very fast delivery. This is my second time ordering from this shop. I will say these were not what I expected, however, I'm NOT disappointed. I was thinking they were going to be glass and heavy but they are like a normal coaster, light with cork and probably better than expected! I absolutely love the colors and art on these, I'm a huge fan of this shop and the owner is amazing and friendly. Highly recommend this shop. The package came quickly and was securely wrapped.
