Fiona Simes
Owner of SparrowhouseGallery
Fiona Simes is an artist and printmaker living and working on the beautiful Isle of Harris. Born in Sussex she studied fine art and printmaking in Hastings and Plymouth and exhibited throughout the Southwest until moving to the Highlands. She has always been greatly influenced by the natural world and has a passion for birdlife in particular.
She has lived and worked on Skye and Raasay where she also has an ongoing exhibition at Raasay House and was involved with the local school making scenery for plays and had the whole school painting a mural in the playground, she enjoyed her time there immensely.
Following her heart, she moved to The Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides last year and has now opened 'Sparrowhouse Gallery' in the old school at Seilebost. The stunning beauty of where she is, overlooking Luskintyre and Seilebost beaches, is reflected in the new body of work she has created. If you venture to the Outer Isles please come and find her, a warm welcome awaits and the kettle is always on...
